Frequently Asked Questions
Chiropractors are well trained in the treatment of auto injuries. Once it has been determined that your car accident has not caused any life threatening injuries your next call should be to the Mandell Chiropractic & Rehab. You are top priority, just walk in during normal business hours as there is never a waiting time. Those aches and pains you are experiencing after your car accident, injury or fall are an indication that the spine has suffered damage. If ignored, the pain may go away, but the spinal damage will not heal correctly. These untreated spinal injuries are the source of future pain, arthritis and radicular symptoms. The permanent damage that results may lead to a life of chronic pain and discomfort. The doctors at Mandell Chiropractic & Rehab have the tools to diagnose your injuries. We have an on-site x-ray lab and other diagnostic tools to locate and document the specifics of your injuries. Our patients love the personalized attention and learning about the source of their discomfort.

Q. I went to the emergency room and they said nothing was wrong. I'm still in pain. What should I do?
Emergency rooms are designed to diagnose and treat life threatening injuries or illnesses. When the emergency room releases you after an auto injury, you may have received x-rays and a prescription for medicine, but this does NOT mean that you are all right. It just means that you do NOT have any life threatening injuries. Chiropractors take the next step in auto injury treatment. We diagnose and treat whiplash injuries in the neck and back. These injuries may be causing you some discomfort after the accident. These injuries will cause even more trouble for you if you do not get them treated soon. REMEMBER that as of January 1, 2013 the new PIP law states that you must see a doctor fourteen days after your accident or you are not entitled to any benefits. Its important you follow through with any treatment right away to qualify.
Q. The accident wasn't that bad and I'm feeling fine. I'm still curious about what happened to my body though. Should I come in to see if there are injuries I'm not feeling yet?
Yes, this is the most critical aspect of post-accident treatment. Chiropractic is wonderful at treating the pain and discomfort immediately following an accident but our expertise is in encouraging the body to heal correctly. This helps to prevent future problems such as arthritis and spinal degeneration.
